In this live and interactive workshop, we’ll be covering all of the foundational concepts that we use in our ValueDiscovery Pricing Method (VDP) for how to come up with pricing in your service-based business.
To help with the process, we use three in-house calculators so you don’t need to be bogged down with the math. This ensures that most of the time you spend is devoted to understanding the foundations of pricing, so you leave with the confidence needed to state your price, and defend it if need be, going forward.

I thought it might be very, maybe a little academic or very, very numbers heavy. I wasn't sure from the perspective of someone who hasn't really taken business courses before, if it would be digestible for me, and I found that it was.
Most people do not really understand what pricing is, and because they don’t, they can never fully explore it in ways that can benefit them and their business.
By the time you’re less than a quarter of the way through this course, you’d have been given a perspective on pricing that will forever change how you approach this very important business function, IF you choose to embrace what you’ve learned.
Service-based businesses have a harder time coming up with pricing than their product-based counterparts. And a lot of it has to do with the fact that product-based businesses will buy a product for one price, and then simply sell it back for a higher price.
Not so with the service-based business, as their starting point is not as easily defined, which is what makes a simple markup not that simple. However, once you’re done with this course, you’ll have a repeatable methodology you can use for the rest of your life, for coming up with a non-negotiable minimum rate to serve as your base price when charging for your services.
As a service-based business, you're constantly faced with requests to cost client jobs. Yet instead of being ready to provide quick, convenient, definitive answers, you oftentimes need to get back to them.
When you finally respond, there's often haggling that follows, typically resulting in a downward price adjustment, after you'd already underpriced yourself.
In this section, you’ll learn to turn your services into pre-packaged products, with prices that are less likely to be challenged and are set for profit. This will give your customers clarity, make you more efficient, and provide better income predictability.
Students who take this course are usually equipped with only a very basic understanding of what value is, which is to say they misunderstand it. And they do because we’re not taught how to take all of the thinking about value and distill them in ways that are immediately applicable.
When you take this course, we break value down into its constituent parts, as informed by the latest in scientific thinking about the topic. After which, we then combine it with long established thoughts on the subject. By doing so, we create the type of understanding that makes you seemingly able to create value out of thin air, which you can in turn offer to your clients for a fee.
If you pay careful attention to the least paid service-providers, all the way up to those celebrity professionals, there’s a lot to learn about the journey from one end of the spectrum to the other.
By the end of this course, we’ll talk briefly about what I call the five levels of pricing that represent each of the rungs on the way to the top, and how one goes from one level to the next. But even more importantly, by the time you’re in this section, you’d already have much of an appreciation for how YOU might ascend from where you are now to where you want to be.

What impressed me the most is how practical it is... it breaks down what seems to be complex calculations... it breaks it down and simplifies it in a way makes it so practical... that you can see the result in the... moment of doing in it.

The calculator is telling you, how you are misguided in the way that you are pricing things.

So if you take part in the course, you'll realize from early o'clock, like 15 minutes into the course, that... yo! you really was doing things wrong.

It has made a significant difference. It's amazing. My approach is now very scientific, very clear-cut. The methodology of pricing is absolutely clear to me.
Sure I need to workout some things, but the guidelines were excellent. I know how to charge and so I am going to charge people now.
Writing Consultant
It gave me more courage. It gave me more courage to say, this is my price, and I know why it's my price.

It was... one step fed into the next and the next step was another type of... calculator and it solved other kinds of problems. And it had you thinking about your business in other ways, and then you moved on to the next and it...just kept building, one on top of the next.
Green Building Consultant
Before I would have been "Okay, what's your budget? All right I'll work for that". And you end up putting out way more than what they pay.
Now when they ask, I was able to... say what my price was, and I wasn't nervous in the sense of them saying, "Well, that's too expensive, we can't afford it". It's either you take it or you don't.

Jason's course is a breath of fresh air in... a space and place where everybody is undervaluing each other. And it's good to be in a space where there are lots of people who know, or some who didn't know, how much they were undervaluing and are willing and ready to make the changes necessary to stop doing that.
Communications Specialist
...that's what the course provided... it gave you that scientific way of pricing... this methodological way of doing things and not just, okay, I see X company selling for this, or Y company selling for this, and I'm just going to do an average, and smack myself in the middle... So it gave that specific...about how we really go about pricing...
